This entry-level position requires a High School diploma or GED, CT Department of Public Safety licensing and a valid Connecticut driver's license; healthcare security experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Connecticut Department of Public Safety licensing requirements for Security Officers.
• Must hold and maintain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operators License.
• Healthcare security experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a fixed security access control post, or weapons detection post, in an assigned building entrance lobby to ensure proper access control. Provides directions and assistance to those with physical limitations and locates wheelchairs when requested.
• Opens and secures designated doors, entrances, lobbies.
• Reports suspicious person(s) or activity to the Central Communications Officer for a response by Senior Patrol Officers.
• Performs emergency response duties to support initial response to emergencies and assist Protective Services Officers.
• Provides customer/employee value-added services to enhance patient, visitor, and employee experience; greets the public and maintains professional demeanor.
• Supports dispatch center operations by monitoring video systems and handling routine calls during peak times or emergencies.
• Operates assigned equipment safely and follows training procedures.
