GENERAL NOTES

A hybrid work schedule (working onsite and remotely) is available for this position after onsite training and successful performance review have been completed.

PURPOSE

The Patient Financial Services Representative is responsible for managing patient accounts and ensuring accurate billing and collections. This role involves handling inbound and outbound calls, resolving billing inquiries, and processing payments.

Responsibilities

MANAGE PATIENT ACCOUNTS

  • Handle patient inquiries regarding billing and account status.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Process payments and set up payment plans.


BILLING AND COLLECTIONS

  • Generate and send patient statements.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues.


CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  • Explain billing processes and insurance coverage.
  • Address patient concerns and escalating issues as needed.


DATA ENTRY AND DOCUMENTATION

  • Accurately enter patient information into the billing system.
  • Maintain detailed records of all interactions and transactions.
  • Prepare reports on account statuses and collections.


COMPLIANCE AND CONFIDENTIALITY

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Participate in training on compliance and privacy policies.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 1 year(s) of experience in
  • Healthcare billing or customer service.


Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in healthcare administration or related field.
  • At least 3 year(s) of experience in revenue cycle management or medical billing.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) from HFMA.

SALARY RANGE

$45,000+ depending on qualifications
