Qualifications

• Four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training.
• Strong background in medical customer service work.
• Experience in billing and medical terminology is preferred.
• Prior collection experience is preferred.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner.
• Preferred over three years of related healthcare advocacy.
• Certified Application Counselor certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate uninsured or underinsured patients for eligibility of assistance programs.
• Initiate and file applications through various agencies.
• Navigate patients through the enrollment process.
