Job summary

Kansas Health System in Westwood Administration seeks a Patient Financial Advisor to help patients secure payer sources, including insurance, Medicaid/Medicare, and other programs, following enterprise policies.

Responsibilities include contacting patients by phone or in person, screening financial needs, negotiating settlements or payment plans, updating accounts, and ensuring EPIC documentation is current.

Qualifications

• Must be able to type 45 wpm.
• 3 or more years of combined experience in financial advising, claims processing, collections, customer service, or revenue cycle positions.
• High School Graduate or GED.

Responsibilities

• Contacts the patient or family by phone or in person to ask questions about sponsorship linkage, including various insurance programs.
• Screens patients with financial needs and assists in finding payment resolution via settlements, insurance, or charity.
• Updates patient account and demographic information and ensures verification and pre-certification are complete.
• Determines Medicaid or Disability linkage as needed and interprets medical records to assess disability.
• Negotiates settlements or payment arrangements and screens for charity when necessary.
• Handles daily collections and communications for unsecured accounts and supports walk-in customers.
• Processes Care Management Team referrals for Sponsorship and EPIC documentation when applicable.
