Job summary

UF Health seeks a detail-oriented billing specialist to support professional services billing and patient financial services in Florida. You will enter charges, apply CPT/diagnosis rules, maximize collections, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and review patient accounts while providing clear financial counseling.

Strong communication and multitasking abilities are essential. Prior EPIC experience is preferred; some flexibility to float between UFHP practices may be required.

Qualifications

• Two years of business, financial, or physician practice experience required.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and resolve issues effectively.
• Experience with CPT and diagnosis coding preferred.
• EPIC system experience preferred.
• A four-year degree may substitute for two years of required experience.
• An associate degree may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Enter charges and apply coding/billing rules to support accurate billing.
• Maximize collections and verify insurance.
• Obtain authorizations for services.
• Review patient accounts and provide financial counseling to patients.
• Resolve front-end edits, rejections, and information requests to meet goals.
• May float to other UFHP practices or flex time as needed.
