Job summary

The role involves entering charges, applying CPT/diagnosis rules, maximizing collections, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, reviewing patient accounts, and providing financial counseling to patients.

The position may require floating to other UFHP practices and flexible scheduling to meet staffing needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of business, financial, or physician practice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and diagnosis coding preferred.
• Experience with the EPIC system preferred.
• A four-year degree may substitute for two years of required experience.
• An associate degree or equivalent coursework may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Enter charges and apply coding/billing rules.
• Maximize collections and verify insurance.
• Obtain authorizations for services and review patient account detail.
• Provide financial counseling to patients.
• Resolve front-end edits, rejections, and information requests.
• Float to other UFHP practices or flex time as needed for staffing.
