Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medical bills, insurance claims, account balances, payments, and financial responsibilities.
• Answer and respond to inbound telephone calls, emails, and other patient communications in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist patients with resolving billing questions and account discrepancies.
• Explain payment options, insurance processes, and patient financial responsibilities.
• Verify insurance coverage and assist with insurance-related inquiries.
• Process payments and deposits received from auxiliary hospital departments.
• Review and process patient financial assistance and charity care applications in accordance with established guidelines.
• Initiate and submit patient refund requests to the Finance Department for processing.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient account information.
• Collaborate with patients, insurance companies, hospital departments, and other stakeholders to facilitate accurate and efficient billing processes.
• Maintain compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and all applicable policies and procedures regarding the privacy and security of protected health information.
