Avita Health System in Crestline, OH seeks a Patient Service Representative to join our Patient Financial Services Department. You will help maximize timely collections, verify insurance coverage, explain financial options, and support patients through the billing process with clear communication.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in medical billing or patient collections, strong computer skills, and a commitment to HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in medical billing, follow-up, and/or patient collections.
• Knowledge of managed care payer rules and patient collection laws.
• Basic medical terminology to read clinical documentation and coding conventions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and time management; prioritize effectively.
• HIPAA and billing compliance knowledge in daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum and timely collection of health system receivables from those who can pay.
• Identify insurance or program coverage and assist patients with eligibility and enrollment.
• Provide financial education and guidance to patients and families.
• Serve as primary information source and resolve issues through the Customer Service line.
