Job description

Position: Patient Financial Advocate

Type: Full Time, Entry Level

Location: Onsite at a Medical Facility in Knoxville, TN

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Due to the healthcare setting, up-to-date immunizations are required.

We are a leading provider of healthcare outsourcing solutions, supporting patients through complex eligibility and payment processes. Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Screen hospital patients for eligibility assistance programs, bedside or in the ER.
  2. Identify self-pay patients and assist with applications for state, county, and federal programs.
  3. Initiate application processes and document patient interactions accurately.
  4. Conduct face-to-face screenings and follow-up via telephone as needed.
  5. Perform field visits, including patient home visits, to assess eligibility.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
  7. Collaborate with hospital staff and report significant occurrences to management.
  8. Keep detailed logs and meet performance goals.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical coding, billing, or eligibility, or relevant medical experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills required.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work on holidays or odd hours as required.
  • Dress code may vary by facility.
