Job summary

Samaritan Healthcare is seeking a Financial Access Specialist to perform pre-service financial screening, benefit verification, and price estimation for scheduled patients. This role requires understanding of Medicaid, employer plans, Medicare Advantage, and State Exchange plans, and connects patients with financial assistance resources as needed.

The position is full-time, on-site, with hours 8:30am-5:00pm PST, and reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in healthcare administration preferred.
• 1-3 years experience in insurance verification or revenue cycle roles.

Responsibilities

• Review future dates of service on a rotating basis.
• Answer patient financial inquiries by phone and in person.
• Identify financial needs and align with resources.
• Explain estimates and pursue pre-service deposits.
• Verify insurance benefits and explain deductibles, coinsurance, and co-pays.
