• Minimum one year of administrative and customer service experience in an office, clinical, or related setting.
• Ability to provide high level customer service to patients and families.
• Familiarity with medical records systems and department policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides non-clinical support of the telephone screening/triage functions.
• Delivers high level customer service to patients, families, physicians and others.
• Adheres to infection control policies to support patient safety.
• Keeps up-to-date with department office operations and procedures.
• Obtains signatures for treatment consent forms from patients/families.
• Schedules, registers, checks in/out patients and supports follow-up visits.
• Manages patient work queues and related tasks.
• Supports insurance management by collecting information and copays and assisting with referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Collects and documents patient demographic information.
• Handles inbound/outbound calls to schedule appointments or surgeries and routing calls.
• Performs data entry in the medical records system.
• Rounds with patients and families to ensure comfort.
