Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Patient Experience Representative (PER) for the Colorectal and Pelvic Malformation Center. The role splits time between patient-facing duties and administrative work, with hybrid work after training at the Boston (Longwood) location.

Level 1 requires 6 months of experience and a high school diploma or GED, offering a salary range of $19.06–$27.64 per hour. Level 2 requires 1 year of experience, with a salary range of $19.83–$29.49 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of experience for Level 1.
• 1 year of experience for Level 2.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to schedule, coordinate, and manage patient encounters.

Responsibilities

• Greets, registers, and directs patients; enrolls patients in the portal.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates clinic flow.
• Collects patient information, vitals, and documentation; obtains authorizations/insurance verification.
• Collects co-pays, reconciles deposits, and maintains accurate records.
• Manages calls, triages urgent situations, and initiates emergency response when needed.
• Utilizes hospital systems (EMR, scheduling, billing, Microsoft Office).
