Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio seeks a Patient Service Specialist to deliver outstanding patient experiences. The role includes patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification and front-end support across the 8:00 AM–8:00 PM window, with weekend hours.

You will triage patient needs using our HEART approach, educate patients on MyChart, and help maintain accurate records while welcoming all visitors.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years in patient registration, scheduling, insurance processing, or customer service.
• Alternatively, an Associate's degree with 1 year of experience or a Bachelor's degree is acceptable.
• Working knowledge of PC Windows applications and basic math to process co-pays.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive, proactive and 'Patients First' experience for patients and visitors.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using established HEART model.
• Create a welcoming, professional environment; interact with patients to ensure stellar experiences.
• Perform patient registration, visit prep, telephone triage, insurance verification, co-pay collection, scheduling, desk activities, and interpreter services coordination.
• Encourage use of front-end technology; educate and train patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass.
• Enter and maintain confidential patient information; participate in outreach to assist health maintenance and care compliance.
