Deborah Heart and Lung Center is hiring a Patient Service Specialist to serve as the primary contact for patients and providers, guiding them through scheduling, screenings and pre-appointment steps.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, teamwork and problem-solving in a fast-paced clinical setting. The candidate will work M–F with bi-weekly 80-hour pay periods, earning a starting hourly rate with benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years of direct experience in military health services program, customer service, contact center or scheduling environment.
• Experience with EPIC, MediTech, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, centralized scheduling, insurance verification/authorizations, registration, coding, medical billing, or hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide centralized access to physicians and diagnostic services across programs.
• Coordinate services, schedule priority appointments, screenings and pre-appointment questionnaires.
• Escalate matters when needed and maintain high-quality customer interactions.
• Support providers, insurers and team members with professionalism and accuracy.
