Guthrie Medical Group seeks a Patient Service Specialist to support front office operations and deliver patient-centered care. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, verify information, and assist with billing while upholding Guthrie’s Service Excellence Standards.

You’ll answer calls, verify eligibility, collect copays, manage daily cash, and coordinate with physicians and staff. HIPAA privacy and teamwork are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Graduation from a Medical Office Assistant school preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service commitment in a fast-paced environment preferred.

Responsabilités

• Greet every patient in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Answer phones following Guthrie’s Telephone Standards; screen calls and take messages.
• Schedule and maintain patient appointments electronically; verify patient information.
• Register patients and review/verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify eligibility for major insurance carriers and assist with forms and referrals.
• Inform, quote, and collect copayments, deductibles, and deposits per policy.
• Handle daily cash-out and balance in accordance with Cash Control Policy.
• Act as liaison between patients, physicians, staff, and departments; inform of delays.
• Follow policies and attend meetings/huddles as required.
• Prioritize daily tasks in a fast-paced team environment; maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Assist with other projects and quality initiatives as assigned.
