Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH is seeking a Financial Advocate to join our Patient Access team. You will help patients access financial assistance, interpret benefits, and guide them through charity care options.

You will verify insurance, estimate patient responsibilities, arrange payment plans, and communicate clearly with guarantors and staff. A high school diploma and at least 3 years in healthcare billing or financial counseling are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting as a Patient Access Financial Counseling, Patient Financial Services Collections, Healthcare Financial Counseling, or Healthcare Collection Agency.

Responsibilities

• Understands and articulates the Elliott Health System’s financial protocols, including collection of patient financial responsibility amounts, Medicaid eligibility referrals, Charity Care assistance, payment plans, and self-pay discounts.
• Interprets insurance verification information to estimate patient financial responsibility amounts for scheduled services and inpatient stays.
• Communicates patient’s medical coverage and benefits, non-covered services, and patient financial responsibilities to guarantors within established turnaround times.
• Collects patient financial responsibility amounts including co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, past due balances and deposits from in-house patients, scheduled outpatients, ED, and Urgent Care patients as per the EHS Point of Service Collections guidelines.
