Job summary

VSP Vision in Corvallis, OR is seeking a Patient Coordinator to deliver a high-quality patient experience by warmly welcoming patients and guiding them through the eye care journey with a smooth flow.

You will check in/out patients, document information, collect payments, schedule appointments, maintain records, and support multiple departments while keeping front desk organized. Strong communication and discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• One to two years of administrative experience with at least one year providing administrative support.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiries.
• Effective written communication skills to clearly document customer situations, as well as prepare letters to confirm agreements made.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify customer needs.
• Proven problem-solving, negotiations, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to use appropriate discretion and judgment in applying customer/call handling guidelines.
• Ability to listen, process transactions and interact with customers simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out with a focus on high patient satisfaction.
• Document patient information, update records, and collect payments.
• Answer and triage patient inquiries via phone, email, and fax; respond promptly.
• Maintain confidential patient records and filing systems.
• Coordinate scheduling to maintain patient flow and prepare charts.
• Perform confidential admin duties like releasing records and transmitting information.
• Keep front desk organized and welcoming at all times.
• Support cross-training and participate in special projects as needed.
