Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to serve as the primary contact for patients and support clinical staff. You will perform check-in/out, verify insurance, collect payments, and schedule appointments, while maintaining EMR integrity and documentation of vitals and medical history.

You will assist providers, prepare exam rooms, collect lab specimens, administer medications or vaccinations, and support procedures.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma or completion of Medical Assistant training; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, MS Word, and Excel.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and patient care practices.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days; various medical assistant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance, collect payments, and schedule appointments.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), logs, and documentation of patient data such as vital signs and medical history.
• Assist providers with patient information collection, prepare exam rooms, and ensure proper sanitation.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens, administer medications/vaccinations, and support medical procedures.
• Conduct follow-up calls post-discharge to ensure patient care continuity.
