UAB Medicine is seeking a Patient Encounter Specialist to support Prime Care Administration in a flexible AM schedule. The role involves check-in/out duties, patient data entry, and strong customer service.

Training and tasks span clinic operations, revenue-related clerical work, and kiosk support. Applicants should have at least one year of customer service experience, basic medical terminology knowledge, and solid PC skills.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience required.
• Must possess basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.
• Be able to perform math and bookkeeping skills.
• Exceptional telephone and customer service skills expected.

Responsabilités

• Check in scheduled and add-on patients to the clinic.
• Answer telephone and route calls.
• Enter demographic and charge data into the system.
• Check patients out of the clinic and perform follow-up as necessary.
• Assist with collection, deposit and reconciliation of clinic revenue.
• Provide assistance at the Self Check-In Kiosk as needed.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.

Schedules: Monday - Sunday, 3 days/week up to 20hrs

Job Description

Under general supervision and according to UAHSF established policies and procedures, provides a variety of specialized services in support of the operations of their assigned clinic. May check in scheduled and add-on patients to the clinic, answer telephone and route calls, enter demographic, and charge data into system. Check patients out of the clinic and perform patient follow-up as necessary. May perform other clerical duties related to collection, deposit & reconciliation of clinic revenue. Provide assistance and respond to patient needs at the UAB Medicine Self Check-In Kiosk depending on clinic needs. Consistently demonstrate outstanding customer service to UAHSF patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.

Qualifications

One (1) year Customer Service experience required. Business Office Education or similar coursework desired. Must: (1) Attend all required course work assigned by management; (2) possess basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management; (3) be able to perform math & bookkeeping skills; (5) possess exceptional telephone & customer service skills; and (5) be knowledgeable of English grammar & punctuation. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
