Job summary

Qualifications

• 3 years of progressive insurance authorization experience preferred. Epic experience desired.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding practices.
• Strong telephone, organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements for treatment plans.
• Collaborate with care teams to resolve commercial insurance issues.
• Document insurance discussions in the Epic system for up-to-date communication.
• Obtain insurance authorizations for changes in dose or treatment plans.
• Minimize denials and secure timely authorizations with infusion, pharmacy, and billing staff.
• Review medical records and payer criteria to ensure medical necessity.
