Job summary

Qualifications

• Mandatory OSHA training completed annually.
• Knowledge of food preparation, service and modified diet restrictions as normally acquired through 1–3 years’ experience in a medical care facility or similar setting preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and monitors timely preparation, setup, replenishment, accuracy, temperature, appearance and service of designated menu items and equipment.
• Prepares all types of foods by appropriate method of cookery using proper food handling and standardized recipes.
• Adheres to sanitation standards and cleaning schedules.
• Reports major concerns such as spoiled products, unsafe items, or staffing shortages.
• Assembles patient trays and delivers them to patient areas.
• Operates cash registers and assists with catered events.
• Identifies and understands different diets per the diet manual.
