Summary
This position performs a variety of duties in the Dining and Catering Services Department to provide quality care to patients, employees, and visitors. Responsibilities include serving and preparing food, processing diet orders, selecting menus, utilizing recipes, distributing patient trays, operating equipment, operating cash registers, and assisting with catered events. The role also involves maintaining sanitation standards and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
(40%) Oversee and monitor the preparation, setup, and service of menu items, ensuring proper temperatures and appearance. Record temperatures as required.
(35%) Prepare foods using appropriate methods and handle ingredients following food safety standards.
(25%) Maintain sanitation and cleaning schedules.
Additional duties include assembling patient trays, operating cash registers, setting up catered events, understanding diet requirements, and supporting team members in food preparation. Follow all health and safety regulations and participate in required training, including Microsoft Windows competency and OSHA training.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred experience includes 1-3 years working in a healthcare or similar setting. Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and maintain regular attendance is essential. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing/walking for long periods, and wearing protective equipment as needed.
