Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA, is hiring a Patient Dining Associate I for a full-time, rotating shift role. You will be responsible for patient meal service on assigned units, communicate food issues to Food & Nutrition Services, and collaborate with Nursing on nutrition needs.

Assistance to dietitians on monitoring diets (NPO, clear, full liquid) and tracking food intake is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equivalent
  • 1 year of food service experience may be consideried in lieu of High School Education

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units.

Overview

Responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements. Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Education
  • High School Grad or Equivalent
  • 1 year of food service experience may be consideried in lieu of High School Education
Certification/Licensure
  • Food Handlers Card (Required at time of hire)
Experience
  • Previous customer service experience (Required)
  • Previous food service experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
