Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA, is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to support patient meal service on assigned units. You will work rotating 12-hour shifts with open availability, including early and late shifts.

The role involves collaborating with Nursing and Dietetics to meet patient nutrition needs and ensure meal accuracy. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and may hold a Certified Food Service Handler's Card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Certification as Food Service Handler per local health dept. (where applicable).
• Experience assisting dietitians with patient meals and monitoring patient intake.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver patient meals on assigned units.
• Communicate patient food issues to Food & Nutrition Services and Nursing staff.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring diets (NPO, clear liquid, full liquid) and record intake.
• Respond quickly to changes to ensure timely service and accuracy of modified diets.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction through accurate meal service and attention to dietary restrictions.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
