Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA is hiring a Patient Dining Associate I. This is a full-time, rotating shift role with weekends. You will serve patient meals, communicate nutrition needs to Food & Nutrition Services and Nursing, and assist the dietitian with diet monitoring and intake records.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a Food Handlers Card at hire, with preferred prior food service and mandatory customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of food service experience may substitute for schooling.
• Food Handlers Card required at time of hire.
• Previous customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient meal service on assigned units.
• Communicate patient food issues/needs to Food & Nutrition Services and Nursing regarding nutrition needs.
• Assist dietitian with monitoring diets and recording food intake for intake analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of meals, accommodating modified diets when ordered.

This is a full time, rotating shift position with rotating weekends.HoursMonday - Friday: must be available to work a 12-hour shift between the hours of 6am - 7pmRotating WeekendsOverviewResponsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements. Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
