Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Dining Associate for the Food Service Department. The role is full-time with rotating 12‑hour shifts from 7 a.m.

to 7 p.m., including every other weekend, and offers a potential sign-on bonus up to $1,500. You will handle patient meal service on assigned units, communicate dietary needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and support dietitians with diet monitoring and intake recording to ensure accurate, timely meals aligned with

Overview

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Dining Associate for the Food Service Department. Shift - Full-time, Rotating Shift - Work Full-time, 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., including every other weekend. (Up to $1,500 Sign-on Bonus for qualified candidates)

Responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. Communicates patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacts with Nursing in regards to patient nutrition needs or requirements. Assist dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. React accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Experience in Lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.

Certified Food Service Handler's Card (as required by local Health Department).

The Food Handler Certification is only required in the following facilities: SNGH, SLH, SOH, SCH and SWRMC

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
