Job Details

• We are hiring immediately for a full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE position.
• Location: St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital - 5353 Reynolds Street, Savannah, GA 31405. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time; shifts vary between 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, including some weekends and twelve-hour shifts. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: No prior experience required. Willing to train!
• Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour.

Job Description

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in healthcare facilities, providing services such as helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are essential members of the caregiving team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering accurate meals at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients in understanding their menu options and coordinate with nursing to ensure dietary restrictions are met.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately and promptly, and retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
• Comply with regulatory standards including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines during food handling, cleaning, and tray line procedures.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets or calorie counts.
• Report problems or concerns with patients promptly to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports as per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Follow sanitation and infection control policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
