  • Immediate opening for full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE DIETARY AIDE positions.
  • Location: Community Hospital - 4900 Broad Road, Syracuse, NY 13215 (Online applications only).
  • Schedule: Full-time, Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday, hours may vary. Details provided during interview. Customer service experience required.
  • Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, assisting patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are integral to patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and timely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with menu choices and coordinate with nursing to meet nutritional needs.
  • Determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, cultural, or religious preferences.
  • Manage tray tickets, assemble meals, and retrieve trays in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA policies.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines and infection control policies.
  • Support dietitians by monitoring patients on special diets.
  • Communicate concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Complete required reports and comply with health and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food carts.
