Job Details

• We are hiring immediately for a full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) position.
• Location: Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital - 27800 Northwest Freeway, Cypress, TX 77433. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts. Hours and days may vary, including weekends and holidays. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous dietary aide or food service experience preferred.
• Pay Range: $15.00 to $18.94 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the correct temperature to meet patient safety and satisfaction goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients with menu choices and coordinate with nursing to ensure nutritional requirements are met.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary staff to accommodate allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, and additional patient inquiries.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and promptly. Retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
• Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and uphold confidentiality and patient rights per HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines for handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down tray lines.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on special diets or calorie counts.
• Report problems or concerns with patients promptly and according to departmental procedures.
• Complete required reports as outlined in company policies.
• Follow health and sanitation regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
