Job summary

St John Neuman Center for Rehab and Healthcare in Philadelphia seeks a dedicated food service aide to support patient meals, tray assembly, and dining room service in a clinical setting.

You will follow modified diets, set up tables, deliver nourishment, and maintain sanitation across dining areas while cooperating with staff to meet timelines and patient needs. On-the-job training is provided, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in English.
• Some previous experience as a waiter/waitress is desirable.
• On the job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Wait on tables and set up trays for patient food service following posted menus.
• Set up dining room and trays with placemats, napkins, silverware, cups, condiments, etc.
• Serves appropriate food on general and modified diets to residents in dining room and on trays.
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of tables in section, hi-boys, kitchen counters and cabinets, garbage bins, coffee carts and work areas.
• Break down dirty trays from hi-boys.
• Sweeps floors and cleans chairs in assigned section.
• Prepares desserts, nourishments and specials.
• Reports to Food Service Supervisor of any substitutions of meals and meal refusals.
• Delivers nourishment to floors.
• Delivers coffee to Administration.
• Deliver and pick up food carts in patient care areas.
• Exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with patients, making last minutes diet changes, and satisfying resident’s requests
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
