Job summary

Outcome HC in Philadelphia is seeking a Food Service Worker to support patient meals, ensuring proper diets and temperatures are maintained while serving on schedule.

Responsibilities include dining room setup, tray assembly, nourishing deliveries, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas; on-the-job training is provided and experience as a waiter/waitress is helpful. English proficiency required and ability to lift 25 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in English.
• Some previous experience as a waiter/waitress is desirable.
• On the job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Wait on tables and set up trays for patient food service following posted menus.
• Set up dining room and trays with placemats, napkins, silverware, cups, condiments, etc.
• Serves appropriate food on general and modified diets to residents in dining room and on trays.
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of tables in section, hi-boys, kitchen counters and cabinets, garbage bins, coffee carts and work areas.
• Break down dirty trays from hi-boys.
• Sweeps floors and cleans chairs in assigned section.
• Prepares desserts, nourishments and specials.
• Reports to Food Service Supervisor of any substitutions of meals and meal refusals.
• Delivers nourishment to floors.
• Delivers coffee to Administration.
• Deliver and pick up food carts in patient care areas.
• Exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with patients, making last minutes diet changes, and satisfying resident’s requests
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
