Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Diet Orders Coordinator in Lebanon, NH, to review and process patient diet orders, assist with menus, and ensure meals align with provider prescriptions. You will interact with patients, families, and clinicians to support accurate diet fulfillment.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and computer skills, with opportunities to help improve meal service and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in provider office preferred.
• Knowledge of diet orders and ability to follow up on orders and problem solve for patient needs related to the diet order.
• Ability to effectively interact with patients, providers, and staff.
• Able to multitask with multiple computer applications open and respond to inquiries.
• Proficiency with listed applications/systems: Microsoft Office, Computrition, FileMaker Pro, Ed-H, Copier system.

Responsibilities

• Process patient menus and diet orders in the computer and assist with tray assembly.
• Enter changes or new eD-H diet orders into Computrition.
• Respond to patient calls with information and education on diet orders.
• Assist patients with completing and correcting food orders and schedule updates.
• Assess patient needs and process requests for diet orders.
• Provide follow-up on patient diet-related questions and concerns.
• Answer calls, take messages, and document ticket processing for diet orders.
• Monitor system messages and faxes to ensure timely patient meals.
• Review modified diets (2 gm sodium, renal, fluid restrictions) and adjust items accordingly.
• Support providers and staff with diet-related questions and patient communications.
• Act as liaison between patients, DT/RD, and kitchen staff to fulfill diet requests.
