Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• The position requires about 2 years of medical clerical experience, preferably in hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling.
• Medical terminology is required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with common office software and computerized scheduling systems; ability to maintain accurate statistical records and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Receive physician orders and verify information as needed; coordinate scheduling.
• Schedule patients for treatments or diagnostic procedures using scheduling systems; resolve conflicts.
• Enter patient data into scheduling systems and maintain current records; prepare charts and reports.
• Distribute educational materials to patients and families as needed.
• Provide administrative support to the assigned unit.
• Interact with physicians, their staff, patients, families, and clinical personnel with confidentiality.
