Job description

Patient Coordinator, School of Dental Medicine, Clinical Affairs

Join Boston University as a Patient Coordinator within the School of Dental Medicine, Clinical Affairs. This full-time position reports directly to the Clinic Practice Manager and involves working as part of the team within the Group Practice Model to ensure excellent customer service for both patients and students.

The role aims to make each phase of patient treatment a positive experience, from the initial phone call through the completion of dental care. Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments, updating patient information, handling payments, billing inquiries, answering phones, running reports, and supporting the Group Practice Team in patient care management.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for patients within the Group Practice.
  • Support student providers by contacting patients and scheduling appointments.
  • Assist patients with questions and escalate unresolved issues to the Practice Manager or Practice Leader.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out, including updating demographics, insurance, verifying consent and treatment plans, accepting payments, booking follow-ups, collecting balances, and processing invoices.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
