Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification required for Mobile Radiology; a plus for Fixed Radiology.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Background check and drug screen required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Job description

Overview

The Patient Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. The role includes ensuring proper documentation, preparing patient records, and providing patients with clear information about their appointments.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
  • Perform patient registration in various systems.
  • Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collect patient responsibility payments for time‑of‑service services.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
  • Conduct preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, including review of medical history.
  • Transport patients to and from the exam room and assist with transfer on/off exam tables.
  • Provide patients with preliminary and post‑procedure instructions.
  • Assist in preparing the unit for transport in the mobile setting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient records and documentation in electronic systems and on written documents.
  • Assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to patients, physicians, or contracted customers.
  • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • CPR certification required for Mobile Radiology and Oncology; a plus for Fixed Radiology.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Basic computer application knowledge.
  • Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.
  • COVID‑19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of pre‑employment background check and drug screen required.
  • Preferred: Six months customer service or related experience, knowledge of medical terminology, bilingual in Spanish.
Physical Requirements
  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport.
  • May be exposed to a strong magnetic field or radioactive material.
  • May be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious disease, and environmental hazards such as noise.
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (including moving non‑ambulatory patients).
