SportsMed Physical Therapy is a leading Physical Therapy Practice in Northern New Jersey, focused on outpatient sports medicine and orthopedic conditions. We aim to create a patient-friendly, welcoming environment. We are seeking a motivated, outgoing, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Patient Coordinator.

The Position

The Patient Coordinator will assist patients and visitors at our Physical Therapy Centers, handling front desk operations including scheduling, insurance communication, and data entry. This role supports team goals and offers growth opportunities within SportsMed Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Greeting patients and visitors, handling inquiries via phone or in person.
  • Scheduling and rescheduling appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.
  • Verifying insurance benefits and authorizations.
  • Maintaining patient records and accounts.
  • Ensuring appointments are on schedule and notifying providers of arrivals and delays.
  • Recording and collecting payments, managing third-party claims.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  • Following policies and contributing to team efforts.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multitasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience in a healthcare, medical office, or hospitality environment emphasizing customer service.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
