Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in customer service.
• Prefer six months receptionist experience in health care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
• Word processing and computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and screens calls; takes messages and provides information.
• Registers and greets patients in a courteous manner.
• Schedules, confirms and coordinates patient appointments.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and records information.
• Maintains patient records and HIPAA privacy compliance.
• Operates office equipment and basic computer programs.
• Supports laboratory or radiology scheduling as directed.
• Assists with room turnover and general office tasks.
• Attends meetings and participates in ongoing education.
