Job summary

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute in Eugene, OR is seeking a Telephone Operator to join the administrative team at the Central Business Office. You will answer, direct, and triage a high volume of calls for the clinic, requiring clear communication and precise handling of multi-line phone systems.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and possess a friendly, professional phone demeanor.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and experience with complex multi-line phone systems.
• Highly organized and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a medical office is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls courteously and efficiently, routing callers to the appropriate extension.
• Take and relay messages accurately and promptly.
• Respond to emergencies by directing calls to clinical staff.
• Manage operator functions: triaging calls, transferring calls, setting up conference calls, instructing users on phone procedures, and reporting any telephone or equipment issues.
• Provide a friendly and helpful phone experience for all callers.
• Assist with clerical tasks to support departmental workflow.
• Other duties as assigned.
