Job summary

Millennium Health in Dalton, GA is seeking a Full Time Specimen Collector. You will collect urine and oral fluid specimens, process and package them for shipping, and act as a liaison between clinics and our laboratory.

The role requires strict HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service. Ideal candidates have 6+ months of specimen collection experience or 1+ year in the medical field, with 2+ years of customer service; a valid driver’s license and tech proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of specimen collection experience or 1+ year in medical field.
• 2+ years of customer service can substitute for medical experience.
• Must navigate a smartphone and computer.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• HIPAA/HiTrust/compliance knowledge is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens
• Process and package collections for shipping
• Serve as intermediary between practice / clinic and the laboratory
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required
