You will patrol, respond to incidents, document events, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed. The role emphasizes discretion, situational awareness, and a commitment to exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience (public safety, corrections, EMS, military) required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Valid CT Guard Card required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, customer service focused assistance to the HHC Community including patients, visitors, families, colleagues, clinicians and physicians.
• Patrols and rounds facility to identify safety concerns or other problems; may be assigned to fixed areas or mobile patrols.
• Respond to and manage hazardous and emergency situations; provide information and directions as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of instructions and procedures; complete reports and documentation.
• Share information with other Public Safety Officers and coordinate with law enforcement when warranted.
