Job summary

Walgreens is seeking pharmacy technicians or technicians-in-training to join our team in a patient-centered role. You will assist the pharmacist, process prescriptions, and deliver excellent customer service while learning through an ASHP/DOL-recognized apprenticeship.

The program guides you toward PTCB certification and advancing within the Walgreens pharmacy network. Training emphasizes clinical services, inventory management, and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens experience.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Coach technicians in operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of cash registers.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Handle telephone calls not requiring pharmacist attention.
• Assist with inventory management and pharmacy workflow.
