Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking a Cook in Nutrition Services to prepare meals for patients, cafeteria, and catering events under the Nutrition Services Manager.

You will assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, cross-train to other dietary roles, plan patient menus with allergies/preferences, and deliver trays as needed; may involve quality control and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of experience cooking in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Current ServSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for patients, cafeteria, and catering events as directed.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties.
• Cross-train to other Dietary department roles to cover staffing shortages.
• Plan daily menus with patient allergies, preferences, and cultural or religious practices.
• Assist with tray delivery and support day-to-day department operations, including quality control and inventories.
