Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital (NCSH) is seeking a Cook to support food production for patients, cafeteria services, and catering events. The role includes daily and monthly cleaning duties and cross-training to cover other Dietary department positions as needed.

You will participate in patient nutrition planning, consider allergies and cultural practices, and help maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to regulatory guidelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience cooking in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Current Serve Safe Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of food production for patients, cafeteria, and events.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties as assigned.
• Cross-train to other Dietary department roles to cover staffing shortages.
• Support quality improvement, inventory, and compliance with regulations.
