Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapist to join our inpatient Acute Care RT team. You will provide patient care, educate patients and families, and support discharge planning as patients graduate from rehabilitation.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to department policies. Starting at $32.05/hr with bonus possibilities; 12 hrs/week, every other weekend, 8:30am–9:00pm.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist in Michigan; newly graduated therapists have 90 days to complete registry.
• Associate degree is required.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification; may obtain within nine months.
• Previous experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong critical thinking, decision-making, delegation and leadership skills are required.
• Time management and organizational skills are essential; good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and handle interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license and as required by laws and regulations.
• Coordinate, direct, and deliver respiratory care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Discharge education and coordination for patients and families.
• Promote safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
