Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking Nursing Assistants in Bemidji, MN to provide patient-centered care during scheduled 12-hour shifts. The role operates under RN/LPN supervision and supports daily living activities for assigned patients.

The Nursing Assistant helps with bathing, grooming, feeding and vital signs, collects non-invasive specimens, and performs basic treatments. Clerical tasks and shift preparation are part of the duties, with a union position and a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is preferred.
• Certification is required if designated by law (i.e. Home Care).

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities; bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
