Qualifications

• Acquire within 6 months of hire and maintain active Medical Assistant certification as issued by AAMA/AMCA/CCMA/NCCT/MMCI/AMT; BLS by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Empathize with vulnerable populations and care for underserved patients.
• Assist clinician with patient needs, inbox management, prescriptions, messages, and provide information with clinician authorization.
• Collaborate with patients and providers to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
• Collect specimens (urine, sputum, stool) and transport to laboratory; perform basic non-invasive testing.
• Utilize population health methods to improve patient and population outcomes; participate in performance improvement activities.
• Greets and escorts patients, prepares examination rooms, assists with exams and procedures, ensures proper consents.
• Perform clerical tasks: answer phones, register patients, schedule appointments in the clinic system.
• Perform phlebotomy including venipuncture, finger-stick, and heel-stick.
