Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and assist with examinations, procedures, and patient care across clinical areas. You will perform charting, prepare patients, administer medications as directed, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety standards, under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining EMR records, coordinating scheduling, and contributing to a compassionate, efficient patient experience while adhering to quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or eligible for certification by AMT, AAMA, NHA or NAHP within 12 months of hire.
• CertifiedMedical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or other recognized CMA credentials required within 12 months of hire; and current BLS/CPR.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-9/10 and CPT coding; ability to navigate medical coding and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care tasks under physician supervision and assists with examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, and dressing changes.
• Maintains accurate charting and documentation; ensures HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Floats to other clinic practices as needed and supports scheduling, patient access, and communication with patients and pharmacies.
