Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare meals for patients, staff and visitors in the Food & Nutritional Services Department. You will follow standard recipes, set up equipment, and monitor gauges while maintaining a clean, sanitary work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus at least 6 months of quality/batch cooking experience.
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange cooking information.
• Concentration and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift under 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for patients, staff and visitors by following standard recipes.
• Set up equipment, measure ingredients, set and monitor pressure/temperature gauges.
• Clean and maintain work area in a neat and sanitary condition.
