Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited program.
• Current ARDMS certification or eligibility as applicable to the specialty.
• Knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques.
• Clinical experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Obtain high-quality images of anatomical structures and organs for diagnostic interpretation.
• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure comfort and cooperation during examinations.
• Review patient histories and clinical indications to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure image quality.
• Recognize and document relevant sonographic findings and communicate urgent or unexpected findings as per department protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records, examination documentation, and imaging data.
• Follow infection prevention, equipment cleaning, patient identification, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely patient care.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and applicable regulatory standards.
