Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians. You will collaborate with an interprofessional team to address the physiological and emotional needs of patients served by our network.

The role involves rounds, safety maintenance, and assisting with telehealth encounters using Epic and Vidyo. A high school diploma and BLS certification are required; prior patient care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to work with an interprofessional team.
• Basic life support knowledge required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed clinicians.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Maintains supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds and responds promptly to call lights.
• May assist with telehealth encounters and virtual safety activities as needed.
